The Fine Food Store offers honest food at reasonable prices in the centre of The Rocks. This cozy cafe is a lovely place for breakfast and lunch if you happen to be in the area. I came here for a weekday lunch, the food came out fairly quick and the atmosphere was laid-back and relaxing.

Food: 7/10 || Ambiance: 7.5/10 || Service: Self-service || Value: Good
What I liked: The choices and portion of food.
Will I come back: Yes.
The big windows and outdoor benches make this cafe a great place so soak up some vitamin D on a sunny afternoon.
The Fine Food Store is somewhat hidden in a laneway in The Rocks, whilst still within the centre of The Rocks, it’s just a few steps away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets that are usually full with enthusiastic tourists and visitors.
The menu. Very reasonable given its location and the cafe’s cozy atmosphere.
Spacious interior with a combination of window bench (perfect for solo lunch-goers), communal tables and small tables.
You make your order and pay at the counter, get a number and they will deliver your food when it’s ready.
Slow braised pulled pork sliders (slaw, apple compote & crisps), $12.5.
There was a wad of quinoa salad on the side, which was nice and healthy (although I thought I was getting some crisps?). The pork itself was tender and nice with balanced flavours (not too salty). Unfortunately, the slaw was too wet and made the bottom part of the bread all soggy and messy.
Farmers Toastie (prosciutto, roast mushroom, sun dried tomato and parmesan on spelt), $12.5.
Ju said:”I realised that whenever I’m going somewhere you’d ask if I wanted to eat.” “Are you afraid this may be the last time u see me? Lol.”
I actually wondered the same because some of my friends would always suggest catching up before I go overseas for holidays – Subconsciously, maybe it’s exactly what Ju said? I started doing it too because I always like how my dear friends would make time for me to fit in a coffee or dinner before my trip. Plus, there can never be too many excuses to catch up with good friends and sisters!
