I had been wanting to try Yok Yor for some time. It looks cool and clean from the outside, and it is always packed with a Thai-looking crowd in the middle of Sydney’s Thai-town.
Overall, I can’t say that I liked the food we had at Yok Yor. Nevertheless, I am really keen to return to try the rest of the menu – a lot of which I hadn’t seen in other Thai restaurants in Sydney. Hopefully I will have more luck with ordering next time.

Food: 6.5/10 || Ambiance: 7/10 || Service: 8/10 || Value: Good
What I loved: Fresh young coconut drink.
Will I come back: Maybe
Bamee Pu Moo Warn (crab meat and sweet pork on dry egg noodles), $5. This reminded me of Taiwanese braised pork rice (but with instant noodles). Pretty good value for $5!
Moo Ping (grilled marinated pork scotch skewers), $1 each (minimum 4). These were nice, very similar to how Chat Thai does it.
Kao Pad Scallop (scallop fried rice), $12.90. The flavours were really strong and salty.
Pad See Iew with beef (stir fried flat rice noodles), $8.9. Unfortunately, this dish was also way too salty for my liking.
My young coconut, $5.5, so much juice! I love it when restaurants serve young whole coconuts because I always struggle with opening up my own at home…
The elaborated menu. It took Alice and I so long to decide what we wanted. It would be a lot better coming with a group of friends so you can order more dishes to share.
I will be back.
