Palomino is a gem nestled in the hustle and bustle Sydney CBD. It has the characteristics of a CBD takeaway (fast, reasonably priced, simple), yet it also possesses the chillax vibe of a hipster cafe.
Enter the door of Palomino, sit down, take a deep breath, use a bit of imagination – and you could have lunch like it’s Saturday afternoon, every, single, day, during your precious weekday lunch hours.

Visited: Many times
Food: 7/10 || Ambiance: 8/10 || Service: 9/10
What I loved: The soup.
Will I come back: Yes.
There are two communal tables, a few two-seaters and stools by the window.
Steak Sambo, $10.5.
Falafel wrap, $8.5.
Salmon fillet with salad, $13 (without salad, $9.5). I can’t say I am a big fan of their salmon as I found it a tad too fishy, however, it is a healthy and affordable choice for lunch.
The one thing that always lures me in is…hot soup! Checking out their “today’s special” signboard and finding soup on the board always makes my day.
Minestrone soup with chorizo and parmasen toast, $10.
Potato, cauliflower and leek soup, $10.
Hot chocolate.
Cappuccino and brownie (quite sweet).
The service is consistently friendly. They always bring you a bottle of water when you sit down.

This cafe is so close to where I work, I’m defiantly going to visit soon. Those soups look super delicious, particularly as winter is coming and I’m always on the hunt for a warm lunch. That minestrone soup with chorizo and parmesan toast looks so hearty and yum!
Enjoy!
