I love celebrating birthdays, but finding the perfect venue is not an easy task. I was looking for a place that is classy yet cozy; not too expensive but has good food; can fit at least 10 people but does not have strict booking policies, easy to get to but not somewhere that I have been to before…
Just when I had given up on the idea of throwing a party this year, I stumbled upon The Greens. It ticked all the boxes!

Because it was such a last minute decision, the indoor tables were all booked out. Fortunately, it was a bright and sunny Sunday and there were plenty of outdoor tables available when we arrived at 12pm.
The Greens is a registered club. People that live within 5km radius from the Club need to become a member in order to get it (or have a member sign you in as their guest). The good news is, it only costs $10 to join and they will send you a $10 food voucher in the mail for your next visit.
Food menu.
Drinks menu.
You order and pay at the counter, they will bring your food for you when it’s ready.
Wagyu Beef Burger (American cheese, pickles, lettuce, tomato, chips & smokey sauce), $19. The bun was soft and the chips were fat and beautifully fried.
Blue Swimmer Crab Spaghetti (zucchini, chilli, garlic & lemon), $28. Such a refreshing dish with shreds of zucchini adding texture and a healthy aftertaste.
Smoked Trout Salad (hot smoked trout, wild rice, pickled cucumber, soft centred crumbed egg, preserved lemon and dill), $20. A lovely and surprisingly filling dish.
Fish & Chips (grilled barramundi, baby gem & homemade tartare sauce), $22.
Good food, good company.
The breeze, blue sky and relaxing vibe reminded me of a parkland version of The Boat House.
There’s even a petting zoo for the kids.
