This was the second piece of fish’n’chips we had that day.
After reading inconclusive articles and blogs on where to get the best fish’n’chips at Watson Bay, Mike and I set ourselves on a quest to find out whether it is Watson Bay Hotel or Doyles. We had a clear winner.

I loved the atmosphere at the Watson Bay Hotel fish’n’chips. It’s a lively beach-side establishment with a million dollar ocean view. Click [here] for my post on my first ever Watson Bay visit.
Take-away menu.
The takeaway fish’n’chips were much cheaper compared to the dine-in menu. Having said that, $16 is still quite pricey for take-away fish’n’chips in Sydney.
Dine-in menu. The fish’n’chips cost a whooping $24.5!
Order your take-away from the counter on the side of the hotel. The coconuts were reasonably priced at $5 each.
A picture speaks a thousand words. No doubt, Watson Bay Hotel kicked Doyles arse in every possible way that day. Both the battered fish and chips were golden, well-fried and as good as it looked.
Overall, we were satisfied with our fish’n’chips at Watson Bay Hotel. However, were they the best fish’n’chips in Sydney? Well, I wouldn’t go so far in saying it’s the best (my unbeatable best is still the fish’n’chips at Balmoral Bay – review to come), but it’s arguably the top 3.
